Iwatsu Call Forwarding

Here’s a tip on how to make yourself more accessible to customers and
key personnel on your Iwatsu phone system -

Program your desk phone to ring to your cell phone or ANY external
phone number

This is great letting people reach you:

*    When you are out of the office
*    Lunch breaks
*    If you are a mobile person who is frequently away from your desk
*    You are a critical resource for your company that must be reachable
outside of normal business hours

To utilize this key Iwatsu system feature requires 2 steps:

1 – Setup a Speed Dial for your cell or number you want to forward
your phone to:

A.    Press your FEATURE button on your Iwatsu phone
B.    Press your SPEED button on your Iwatsu phone
C.    Select a Speed Dial number from 90 – 99 to program (we will use
90 for this example)
D.    Enter the 7 or 10 digit number you want to forward your phone to
(e.g. 9544629600 – do not put in a 9)
E.    Press the FEATURE button one more time

Your Speed Dial is now created and you will not need to do this again
unless you want to change the number you forward to.

2 – Forward your desk phone

A.    Press the SPEAKER button on your Iwatsu phone
B.    Press the FWD button on your Iwatsu phone
C.    Press 14 + the Speed dial number you assigned (e.g. 1490)

Unless you change the speed dial number, the only thing you will need
to do to forward/un-forward your phone is press the FWD button from
now on.

Iwatsu Whisper Page

Do you have an Iwatsu system? If so, try whisper page. Whisper page allows you to ‘whisper’ a private voice message to somebody that is on the phone (without the other person they are on the phone with hearing your message). To use the whisper page – when you call someone and get a busy signal, simply press and hold the * button on your phone, say your message (e.g. excuse me, but Mr. Smith is holding), then release the * button. The user that you sent this message to can now reply to you using the same steps – press the * button on their phone, say their message to you (e.g. ‘tell them to hold’), then release the * button. Whisper page is especially helpful for receptionists or administrators in sales/service environments who need to notify a busy phone user about a call that is waiting for them without going to their office.
